"What's Going On? | Brain Games | National Geographic Channel." Brain Games. N.p., n.d. Web. 30 Jan. 2014. <http://braingames.nationalgeographic.com/>.
Every monday the national geographic channel launches an episode of brain games. These episodes are experiment based and digs into the complex brain. They solely serve as forms of information. Each week they focus on a part of the brain and takes a journey inside. From these episodes I collect many different ideas. One week I learned about color consistency and decided to do a lesson on it. In that episode I learned that the mind conceives colors differently than what we may think. This episode experiments with different techniques on how to exercise the brain and all this information will be useful in developing my final product.
"Neuroscience Mini Course." Interview by Melissa Stevens. n.d.: n. pag. Print.
This course was really helpful. I spent two classes with Ms. Stevens the first I learned about the parts of the brain and the second class I learned about their functions. This course was really informative I learned in detail about the lobes and everything associated with them. I learned about many of the complex parts of the brain and their primary functions. This was a big part of my research and most of it will be useful in developing my final product.
"Neuroscience Mini Course." Interview by Nathaniel Smith. n.d.: n. pag. Print.
This course was really helpful as well. I first learned about neurons and their importance. I learned about how messages are delivered electronically and about chemical messages. I think her course was more informative than my previous one. I learned about action potential neurons and resting potential. I think it was an important part of research to have just a general knowledge of these concepts. I think later in my lessons I can incorporate some of this research, just to discuss and learn more about.
Doidge, Norman. The Brain That Changes Itself: Stories of Personal Triumph from the Frontiers of Brain Science. New York: Viking, 2007. Print. This book reveals personal triumph stories of different people dealing with brain science. I just began reading it but the stories that I have read so far are fascinating. The scientists in this story deal with amazing cases they have transformed many lives. At first I chose this story for leisure at my surprise I learned more than I expected. My only hope is that I retain most of the information and can later pass it on to someone else. When I finish reading this book I will use it later in developing my final product.
